In Thailand, everything tastes good after some hell lot of deep frying and spices. I only started doubting what I ate wasn’t what I thought to be after munching into quite a handful of them.

They tasted like snails.

Time Extension

Book in timing was extended by forty minutes today, from 4pm to 4.40pm. Seemingly no difference but I spent the additional time with my family at Tampines Giant.

In

And booking in soon this evening. Hmm.

If we see BMT in terms of 2 week blocks, a quarter is already over. Come to think of it, in the past two weeks BMT really exposes you to people from all walks of life despite majority of us being of a junior college background. Especially with your section mates, I think we all practice some form of understanding in the differences between all the thirteen of us.

Out

Programme Bachelor of Social Science 2011-12 Term 1 Admitted
-SMU Applicants’ Portal

And offer from SMU came.
On a random note, visitations to my blog shot up today.
You guys knew Im booking out? Haha. Self-entertaining. Nights.

Anyway, ignore the ‘Admitted’, it just means you have an offer.
Found out that Social Sciences only had 130 places last year!

MediaCorp

How can MediaCorp allow its Best Leading Male Actor category at the Star Awards to be sponsored by Sakura Buffet International when two out of the six nominees are from the same drama that it has its spokeswoman from?

Tuned

After having left college for quite some time, alright, its been four months, I still cant help but envy people in the top colleges. Although one of the trademarks of being in a top college is that of its academic achievements, not saying Innova shortchanged me in anyway, it just feels slightly sour.

I am very proud of Innova in fact, having produced record straight H2 distinction students in which I just missed joining the league slightly. Its more of a psychological thing that you are just tuned into desiring the better things in life even though you do not neccessarily settle for lesser when you choose something more average upon looking back.

This post was triggered after I met a sixteen year old whos now in the NJ Intergrated Programme. Would I have joined it if it existed back then?

Times are certainly getting better for the younger generation, that’s for sure.

Move on.

Anecdote

Once upon a time, Bun met Lollipop. They got along well and he realises she loves Chicken rice and wants to master it. Though Bun and Lollipop didnt really meet up much in real life, Bun kept sharing techniques and recipes with her, just out of goodwill. Lollipop reciproated gladly, adopting whatever Bun said into her quest for making the best Chicken rice ever cause she didnt seem to master it.

One fine day, Bun flipped the papers and saw a full page ad.
‘Lollipop Chicken Rice opens its 10th outlet!’.

Design for Living

Just back from ‘Design for Living’ at the Esplanade. It ended up ending past midnight cause of two technical interruptions lasting close to 15 minutes each. To smoothe everyone (it was a full house at the grand theatre) during the actual intermission, drinks including beer and wine were on the house. Woohoo, being a typical Singaporean I went to get a coke. Heh. No photos from the play itself though, its not allowed!

Was pleasantly surprised when the play had a really local flavour, with elements such as MM Lee and the current Prime Minister being integrated into the dialogues. In the play the lead actor (Joseph Cheng – Zheng Yuan Chang) tried to look for MM Lee’s book at the Travel section cause it contained ‘Singapore’ in the title. It was the book which wrote about how it came from a Third World to a First today. I wonder if such ‘local’ elements are kept thru out the play or customised to wherever its performing?
